This room is approximately 1:6 scale - it was designed around an amazing antique doll bed owned by the client. It measures 15x15x24"

  • I designed the wallpaper and had it printed so that it perfectly fits the rest of the room.

  • I like to encourage interaction with the sets that I make. In this room, none of the pictures are permanently attached to the walls, rather there are set nails to hang them on. This allows the client to decide where to hang each one.

  • Detail of the torn, stained wallpaper.

  • Fireplace detail view. The front of the fireplace is composed of both pre-made architectural dollhouse components and pieces I sculpted myself.

  • One of my main inspirations for the fireplace was from photos of an abandoned mansion in Belgium.

  • My client had curtains that match the bedding of her antique bed - it was hard to leave these curtain rods looking unfinished!

  • Detail view of framed paintings on silk ribbon, cracking plaster, exposed lathe, and peeling wallpaper.

  • Small details make a big difference the overall feel of a piece.

  • My client needed to be able to store this room-box in a fairly small space, so each of the walls comes out for flat storage.

  • A few little details help set the mood: a wet specimen jar and H.P. Lovecraft novels.

  • The back of the windows slide out, allowing you to change the image that shows through the windows - this view is a sunny day in an English cemetery.

  • A view of the back of the diorama - these boards slide out and allow you to change the image that shows through the window.
